1. Looking After Lakeside

This is one of the most prestigious shopping developments in the south east second only to Bluewater at Dartford. This provides full shopping facilities in the region of 250 shop units together with a fully integrated cinema and entertainment complex. The challenge open to us on this occasion was the installation of a very sophisticated closed circuit television system to cover and monitor the malls, car parks, bus station etc. The greatest restraint was to ensure flexibility whilst matching with the aesthetics of the development itself.

The solution specialised engineering incorporated between the pan and tilt units and the housings to accommodate the feed cables. This was also combined with the painting of hardware in colours to match the existing environment.

To gain optimum performance, a mixture of twisted pair transmission and fibre optic transmission was used throughout the site. The system displays on a total of six monitors within the control room operated from an open plan desk arrangement. Multiplex recordings are provided using analogue multiplexers and video recorders.

This system is configured in such a manner that it can be programmed off site on a laptop and then downloaded into the system to achieve the results required by the client. This is also augmented by the installation of a video entry system between the car park entrance and the control room.
